Our extreme music server with low-powered SoC for low-noise audio playback. Designed for use with music management and playback software which does not require a powerful CPU. The short name is AAMS XT.
New LPSU
Unlike the previous AAMS which uses diode bridge rectifiers, AAMS XT uses active rectifiers with Mundorf MLytic AG (Audio Grade) smoothing capacitors. We use Linear Technology LDO voltage regulators for the second or final stage regulation. When the music server is shutdown (front button pressed twice), after the power LED is off, the Linear Technology voltage regulators go into shutdown mode, making the power supply standby current very low.
It has similar power supply design like the AARS, with the only difference being the CPU rail is not populated since the low-powered CPU is directly powered via the ATX connector. Please check the AARS page for more pictures of the Extreme power supply.

Software Options
AAMS XT uses Intel Pentium Silver SoC. It is sufficient to support audio playback and library management software which is not CPU intensive such as Lyrion Media Server (LMS) and many other UPnP servers / renderers.
